Pet Passports
If you are thinking of taking your pet dog or cat on a holiday with you, you will need a pet passport.
We are happy to help as ‘Official Veterinarian’ authorised to issue pet passports.
To be able to issue a pet passport a dog or cat must be (a) be microchipped, (b) have appropriate rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days before travel, and (c) in case of dogs, be treated by a vet for tapeworm 24 to 120 hours before re-entering the UK. The vet must certify that this has been done in the pets passport.
Please bear in mind that requirements of travel to European countries may change after the Brexit transition period ends on 31st December 2020.
Travel to countries other than European nations can have very different requirements. The information on such requirements should sought directly from the respective governmental agencies.
Pet passports is the minimum requirement for travelling abroad with a pet. There are many other things you can do to keep your pet safe and healthy while abroad and after returning back home.
