Dogs and cats are born with larval stages of worms that is why worm treatment at regular intervals is essential right from their very early age. Subsequently, further internal parasite infestation and external parasites like fleas and ticks are picked up by our pets from their environment. Dogs can pick up lungworm infection by ingesting snail or grass bearing snail slime. Similarly, dogs can also be infected with heartworm through particular insect bites. Keeping these parasitic infestations under control is not only important for our pets health but also to avoid any potential risk to family health and that of the wider society. In order to keep the pets under our care free from parasitic infestations, we ensure that our clients are well informed regarding parasite control. Please remember it is very important to keep dogs protected again all types of worm infestation – roundworms, tapeworms, lungworm and heartworm. Please note that worm treatments procured over-the-counter or online may not cover all type of worm infestation, especially lungworm and heartworm.
